NO TO CYBER CRIME LAW.

"On my first opinion on Cybercrime Law: I think our legislators had good intentions when they framed the law especially when it comes to crimes committed through cyberworld however there are provisions therein that need to be amended as it will contravene to the fundamental rights of Filipinos vis-a-vis their freedom of expression. We have to take note too that a cyber-reality does exist and commonly human beings now expressed themselves through there but we cannot also deny the fact, and sadly too that there are those whose intentions are to perturb one's rights and intentionally do a crime for their own preservation and interest. Our lawmakers, indeed, did their part but they were never conscious on our fundamental rights. NOT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO PROTECT US, THEY WILL NEVER BE BLAME OF THIS LAW WHICH IF NOT CORRECTED WILL ABRIDGE OUR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS, THE FREEDOM TO EXPRESS. Therefore, I strongly recommend and urge the Supreme Court, that this law on cybercrime be suspended, and be revised or amended for the realization of its noble purpose."
On a certain aspect of modern thought: LIFE, PROPERTY, LIBERTY. These are the anchor of democratic institutions where rights go beyond life and property but also those rights inherent and inalienable to man such us FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. This freedom is fundamental as it is the living principle of man who lives not just with life and mundane possessions but also the demand to uphold his rights to
testify the institutions that conglomerate under the blessings of Participatory Democracy. Contravention to such right is detrimental to the said institutions, and more so to the people who try to be their living embodiment . THUS, IT IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST FOR THOSE WHO EXERCISE DIRECT AUTHORITY, THE SUPREME COURT, IN PARTICULAR: SUSPEND AND AMEND R.A. 10175!!!!
