I believe that one hundred years from now, when historians look back on the second half of the 20th century, they will probably call it the Information Age. Never before have so many people been able to find out so much about so many things in such a short time. Never before been able to organize, analyze, and use Information so productively. Never before has machinery/appliances been able to work so precisely or to perform such complex tasks.
Information technology has a great influence in such things. Information technology describes any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate, and/or disseminate information. Presumably, when speaking of Information Technology (IT) as a whole, it is noted that the use of computers and information are associated. The Oxford English Dictionary, however, in defining information technology as "the branch of technology concerned with the dissemination, processing, and storage of information, esp. by means of computers".
There are many uses of information technolgy. It comprises almost all things pertaining to technology. It can be applied to the field of socioeconomic development, it also encompasses all mediums, to record information (magnetic disk/tape, optical disks (CD/DVD), flash memory etc. and arguably also paper records); technology for broadcasting information - radio, television; and technology for communicating through voice and sound or images - microphone, camera, loudspeaker, telephone to cellular phones. It includes the wide varieties of computing hardware (PCs, servers, mainframes, networked storage). Rapidly it develops personal hardware market the comprises mobile phones, personal devices, (MP3, MP4, MP5 and MP6) players, and so much more. The full gamut of this application software, from the smallest home-developed spreadsheet to the largest enterprise packages and online software services; and the hardware and software needed to operate networks for transmission of information, again ranging from a home network to the largest global private networks operated by major commercial enterprises and, of course, the Internet. Thus, it makes more explicit that technologies such as broadcasting and wireless mobile telecommunications are included. These things related to information technology which can help everybody do things in just a short period of time. Like, using computers, -electronic mailing, almost every people in the world use it to send information to their loved ones, even students to pass projects or assignments to their teachers. It is not possible to connect or keep in touch by those people who are miles away from you. Many also blog regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Many also use computers to make assignments/project easier top be done by the use of internet. Mass media also use information technology for their work, which has to be related in receiving/sending information to and fro.
